Feel free to browse all areas of our new website where you will find links to our newsletters (past and present), photos of our members’ work, club location and membership informationclub officers, and other exciting information.

AAW Flick of the Week – Turning a Salad Bowl

A great short video by Glenn Lucas showing the steps involved in going from a log to a finished salad bowl.  This video will appeal to both the non-turner and experienced turner alike.

Sharpening Woodturning Tools

Doug Thompson of Thompson Lathe Tools demonstrates how he sharpens Bowl Gouges, Spindle Gouges, Detail Gouges, and Scrapers. Along with showing how he sharpens, Doug explains what he believes woodturners should be using for grinders and jigs. He also offers tips for correcting improperly ground gouges and how to go to a friends house and sharpen your tools without offending your host and their grinding setup.
